Depends on the stake. If the entry is high it will be longer than a cheap one. A cheap tourny for me takes about 30 mins, Im guessing it will take him 2-3 hours.
The length of a poker tourney is totally dependent on the tourney setup. My weekly game tourney goes from 8:30 until 12:30 - 1… and has less people than 30.
Why don’t you trust your husband?
It depends on how well he does. If it’s a no limit tournament (most are) then it can be over for you on the very first hand. But let’s assume he going to do well so plan on 3-5 hours.
